When we talk about metaphor, we have two concepts in mind: the literal meaning of a noun and its appearance, which is transferred based on similarity to another noun. The process of perceiving one thing through other things is a linguistic and psychological process. Metaphor has been widely studied in the literary style, but determining its place in the journalistic style requires updating research. This article will discuss how, by using metaphor in the journalistic style, we can express additional meanings when conveying information to the listener.
First, it helps to explain concepts that are difficult for the reader or listener to understand by linking them to something they can imagine.
Second, the use of metaphors with emotional associations in the journalistic style gives the reader the mood or tone we intend.
